About the Commission

The Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) was established under the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion Act, 2021.

The Commission is dedicated to preventing, managing and resolving conflicts, while promoting sustainable peace, national unity and social cohesion in Sierra Leone.

Through dialogue, mediation, reconciliation and strategic peacebuilding initiatives, the Commission works closely with Government, communities, civil society organizations, religious leaders and development partners to strengthen peace and stability nationwide.

The Commission also supports early warning systems, human rights monitoring, community engagement and inclusive participation to ensure a just, peaceful and resilient society.
